There have been quite a few warm days since the middle of March.  It is now 17 April and most of the snow is gone or going fast.  Melt water is standing in the fields and some peony rows are under water — not a problem as the peonies are still fast asleep in the frozen ground.  The standing water will disappear as soon as the ground thaws.
