Peonies erupting today

Posted on: May 6th, 2012 by Ron

Went out to the fields and did an extensive walk around.  We found an interesting surprise — little red tips were starting to peek out of the ground on a few of our peony plants.  This is probably a couple of weeks earlier than last year.  Checked with the University and they found a few of their own peonies starting to erupt through the soil as well.  We’ll see how this affects our bloom time.  In the past, our earliest blooms have been during the last week of June.
